The Afton natural platform bed is made in Virginia by Savvy Rest's own skilled woodworkers. The Afton supports your sleep with timeless simplicity. Maple posts, rails, and legs are finished to your preference. Choose zero-VOC linseed oil; zero-VOC walnut, cedar or mahogany stain; or natural unfinished. No lacquers or varnishes are used.
Made to last for generations, the Afton features closely-spaced poplar slats and solid steel, mortised-in corner brackets. Each corner has three tenons for optimal strength and durability. Simple assembly; no tools required.
Extremely solid and simply elegant, the Afton is a perfect fit for any natural bedroom.
Easy to Assemble
One of the most unique aspects of the platform beds is that no tools are required for assembly. That’s right—it’s actually easy.
Savvy Rest wanted to create a piece that was beautiful, functional, and simple to put together.

Because the platform beds are made of solid maple and poplar wood, natural variations may occur. Humidity has the ability to expand solid wood. This is normal and will not negatively impact the structure or beauty of the furniture piece.

It’s important to Savvy Rest that their stains are safe for their customers as well as their woodworkers who are using them every day. This is why they've opted for zero-VOC finishes.
Choose between linseed oil, cedar, mahogany, or walnut.
Quality Construction
Savvy Rest furniture is hand-built by skilled woodworkers in Charlottesville, Virginia with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery. The Esmont natural platform bed features an all-maple frame with closely-spaced poplar slats and solid steel, mortised-in corner brackets. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery is also used for optimal strength and durability.
